REVIEW: Evo, samo pisanje ovog blog unosa nekkao greje dušu. Pa, zamislite samo, uzmete miševe, "najmanje od stvorenja zemlje", podarite im skrivenu civilizaciju, smestite ih u epski srednji vek, nacrtate ih tako lepo, obojite ih tako živo i veselo i izmaštate njihove silne avanture - avanture malih, no beksrajno hrabrih stvorova u svetu velikih i moćnih. Mišija Garda (Straža) je oružana sila koja na okupu drži nezavisne mišije teritorije sastavljene iz  niza skrivenih i samostalnih mišijih naselja - parčence sveta iz kojeg su sitni glodari, manje-više, uspešno isterali grabljivice i koje sada s ponosom zovu svojom zemljom. To je opšta postavka ovog stripa. U pitanju je direktni nastavak Jeseni 1152 - tokom koje je moglo doći do krvavog građanskog, brato-mišoubilačkog rata. Došla je zima za koju miševi, nakon pomenutih burnih jesenjih događaja, nisu spremni. Štab garde je bez namirnica i njeni članovi su poslati na sve strane u nabavku... A, ono što je i u originalnoj priči bilo najfascinantnije - sukob miševa sa grabljivcima - i ovde je prisutno i jednako uzbudljivo. Ono što je za čoveka jedna od ptica na drvetu ili u vazduhu, za miša je opasnost najveća na svetu. Ono što je za junaka klasične epske fantastike zmaj, za naše male glodare je obična sova. To i jeste najveća vrednost ovog stripa - pored očigledne prijemčivosti za sve uzraste - izmeštanje perspektive, tako verno prikazana hipotetička, od očiju ljudi skrivena civilizacija.

Takođe se i međumišiji odnosi dalje razvijaju, svaki miš, ma koliko mali, postaje nam još draži, a jedan gine junačkom smrću, ostavljajući nas rastužene... 

Uskoro na stranama bloga i prolog posvećen famoznoj "Crnoj Sekiri", najvećem mišijem heroju svih vremena, a autor stripa polako radi na još jednoj mini-seriji koja će nam dočarati zimski rat 1149. godine, vođen između miševa i lasica.

REVIEW: Retko kada čovek naleti na nešto ovoliko lepo i duboko humano, što ga natera da zastane, uspori i voli život. Ovo je kratka i stara, ko zna koliko puta do sada ispričana priča, samo odenuta u novo ruho i ponuđena gladnima. Ukoliko volite "Čarobnjak iz Oza", "Alisu u zemlji čuda" i slične klasike, svakako ćete i u priči o curi od zupčanika i zavrtnja (simpatično nazvanoj Tesla) naći ponešto za sebe. 

Suštinski šekspirovska priča o dve zavađene porodice, obe posvećene sanjarskom cilju stvaranja veštačkog života. Ciljevi isti, ali putanje do njih sasvim drugačije - jedna okrenuta nauci, progresu i hladnom čeliku, druga prirodnjačka, ekološka. Jedan namrgođeni starac do novog života pokušava doći hefestovskim, a drugi frankenštajnovskim metodama. Lagana simbolika tako ugodna današnjem svetu u kome se priroda i tehnologija neprekindo sukobljavaju.

REVIEW: Priču sasvim dobro sumira ovaj pasus iz promo materijala, pa meni ostaje da kažem da suštinski nije u pitanju nekakav spaktakl i da je, kada pričamo o adaptiranju i modernizaciji bajki, strip svet video i nešto ubedjivije priče, ali, Legends: The Enchanted je i više nego pristojan komad i to može da zahvali pre svega vanrednom izgledu - verujte mi, da mi neko ponudi da biram između bilo koje strane ovog stripa i rasne, prirodne, u predelu grudnog koša obdarene crnke, izabrao bih šareno parče stripa i s njim vodio ljubav celu noć!

REVIEW: Ovaj trejd pejprbek zatvara epohalnu sagu o Metabaronima. Jedna od najvećih svemirskih opera svih vremena, uzimajući u obzir sve moguće medijume, u svojoj drugoj polovini postaje vrhunski mračna, surova i umobolna. Hodorovski pričom o svakom sledećem metabaronu, superiornom galaktičkom ratniku heroju, plaćeniku i ubici, pomera granice moralno prihvatljivog i za želudac svarljivog, slagajući šok za šokom, rušeći i stvarajući tabu za tabuom...

Gde je već početak kaste bio obeležen krvavim ritualima sakaćenja dece-naslednika titule i vrhunski surove borbe do smrti oca-metabarona i sina-naslednika gde od konačnog ishoda zavisi da li će se kasta ugasiti ili će galaksija dobiti novog (anti)heroja. Završne priče su za nekoliko stepenika surovije i zaista - bolesnije.

Zamislite samo postojanje izraza "auto-incest" i njegovo značenje i dobićete, deo, slike o univerzumu metabarona.

REVIEW: Poslednjih nekoliko godina Marvel je u saradnji sa francuskim Soleil-om, jednim od najznačajnijih evropskih strip izdavača, na engleski preveo i po prvi put američkoj publici predstavio neke od najboljih savremenih sci-fi/fantasy strip priča nastalih na tlu starog kontinenta. Na blogu već možete naći fenomenalni Samurai, a sada i ovaj - Bič Božiji.

U pitanju je predivan strip, tako duboko ukorenjen u tradiciju fantasy žanra, u najširem smislu tog pojma, da se u njega već na prvi pogled mora zaljubiti svaki pošteni geek. Priča je smeštena u daleko budućnost u kojoj se čovečanstvo raširilo po čitavoj galaksiji i ujedinjeno pod jednim barjakom, jednim Imperatorom, manje-više srećno živi u jednoj imperiji jako inspirisanoj pradavnim Rimskim carstvom... sve dok se, ni otkuda, ne pojave Huni, slični onim drevnim - divlji, surovi, posvećeni ratu i osvajanju.. ali, pričaju čistim latinskim, baš kao i žitelji Imperije. otkud, kako, ko se to igra i kakve igre? REVIEW: I prečesto sebi kažem da sam nenormalan, da traćim 
život, da život nemam, jer... aman, nije mi problem da satima lutam po netu u potrazi za novim stripovima, novom muzikom, novim geek zamlaćivanjima. Impulsivno dl-ovanje svega i svačega se završava samo nerviranjem činjenicom da ja u svemu tome jednostavno nemam kad da uživam - da svaki album poslušam po deset+ puta, da nad savkom stranom stripa zastanem po dva minuta i upijam detalje prelepih crteža, još kada se veže parloših/prosečnih stvari za čitanje/slušanje konstatacija da zaista gubim vreme deluje istinitija i jača na svojim nogama od "ipak se okreće". Onda upadne "I Kill Giants" i svemu da smisao!
KAKAV STRIP!!!
Prelepo surova, prelepo tužna priča o detetu, devojčici, pametnoj, daleko pametnijoj od svojih vršnjaka, maštovitoj do tačke gde realnost zaista nestaje, povrh svega - uplašenoj. Barbara - devojčica koja igra D&D (i igra bolje od dečaka), koja nema prijatelje (barem ne one stvarne), koju zlostavljaju školski nasilnici ili to pokušavaju da čine), koja je redovna kod direktora škole, a još redovnija kod psihologa... devojčici koja ima majku, smrtno bolesnu majku.

Svo njeno asocijalno ponašanje, očajnički eskapizam, agresivnost, sve potiče upravo iz straha i nemoći da se suoči sa svojim demonima i divovima, tokom čitave priče skuplja petlju, sprema se za to i na kraju, kroz suze čitalaca, uspeva u tome. 
O smrtnosti, o prihvatanju iste, o iskorišćavanju onog sitnog što nam je ostalo, o ljubavi, o deci, o nadi, o ljudima - o džinovima.

REVIEW: Popularnost mange među mojim vršnjacima i onim nešto (ili malo više) mlađim je neosporna i za mene neobjašnjiva, osim ako izuzmemo to da je čitanje manga i gledanje anima danas jednostavno cool. Iako, naravno, ima u celoj toj pretrpanoj hiper-produkciji i više od par bisera narativa koji neretko svojom pomerenošću uveliko prevazilaze svoje parnjake s druge strane sveta, ono što me je oduvek odbijalo od istočnjačke vizije omiljenog mi  medija jeste taj neki osećaj jeftinog: od crteža, štampe, pa do samog papira... Ipak, kada se pšojavi nešto sa istoka ili makar sa ukusom istoka, a pritom je blisko zapadnjačkoj strip tradiciji, onda se to nešto posebno čita i voli.

Grafička novela u izdanju Dark Horse Books-a (etiketa matičnog Dark Horse Comics-a) po imenu Kwaidan je upravo to i upravo je vredna svake pažnje i ljubavi! 

Prelepa ljubavna priča široke i bogate imaginacije rasprostire se na više od dva veka, smeštena u feudalni Japan, Japan iz kojeg, ispred kompjutera i atomskih bombi, još uvek nisu utekli svi silni duhovi, demoni i bajke, gde se duhovnost, ljubav i lepota još uvek nisu predali izvitoperenosti. Rat klanova, odsustvo muškaraca i dve sestre koje čekaju, čekaju ratnika, obe zaljubljene u njega. Ona ružna i ogorčena, u trenu podlosti, vrelim uljem spaljujući lice svoje prelepe sestre, pokreće komplikovanu, naizgled beskrajnu igru ljubavi i mržnje, smrti i večnosti, kletva i praštanja.

Koliko god priča bila lepa, a zaista jeste, svojom bajkovitošću ispunjavajući čitaoca, ostavljajući ga nasmejanog i smirenog, pomirenog, art knjige je ono zbog čega ćete zaista gutati svaku stranu, jednu za drugom. U divnim scenama zime, šuma, zaigrane dece ili obnaženih tela videćete zašto strip stavljam ispred mange.

REVIEW: Koliko samo zla mlada Haven doživi i preživi samo u nekoliko prvih stranica ove priče je nerovatna, a garantovano dovoljna da kod vas probudi prejak osećaj sažaljenja nad sasvim izmišljenim karakterom - nečem jedva većem od par linija i boje. Gubi majku, biva silovana, nestaje nakon susreta sa onostranim, vraća se da shvati d ajoj je otac, koji i inače nikad nije imao vremena za nju, u zatvoru osuđen na smrt... Nastavak donosi samo prikaze pakla, gubitka i ono malo šta joj je ostalo kroz niz izdaja i otkrivenih laži, sve do kraja i konačnog promnalaska sebe, kao superheroine.

SERBIAN(review): Suvoparan, optimistični Sci-Fi sa prejakim akcentom na nauku nikada ne beše moje parče idealne literature. Da, kao klinacklinacklinac voleh Verna, zatim Klarka i srodnu mu ekipu, ali tek otkrićem Simonsa i Herberta pronađoh svoju pravu ljubav - epski SF. Kasta Metabarona je jedan od najboljih, ako ne i najbolji,predstavnika tog žanra u strip svetu.Tako da je kultna serija koja je brižno, koliko i sporo stvarana više od jedne decenije, obavezno štivo svagog fana "Hiperiona", "Dine" ili recimo TV serije "Betlstar: Galaktika" - raskošna space opera o kasti savršenih boraca, tzv. Metabarona, obiluje nasiljem, ljubavlju, setom, besom, razočaranjima, krvlju - bivajući generalno daleko humanija od većine SF kako u stripovnog, tako i književnog ili onog sa velikih platna ili malih ekrana. 

Metabaron je jedan i uvek jedan, ritual i obaveza se prenosi s kolena na koleno u surovoj borbi oca i sina na smrt - gde će sin pokazati da je dostojan, ubiti oca i produžiti kastu ili pak ispasti nedostojan, bezvredan i pasti od sečiva sopstvenog oca. rituelno samo-sakaćenje i nadomešćivanje odstranjenih delova tela (čulnih organa, udova...) metalnim implantima je još jedna tradicija Metabarona.

Kroz osam epizoda (ovde obajveljene prve četiri) pratićemo nekolicnu generacija Metabarona, priča posvećene samim borcima, kao i njihovim životnim saputnicama, nesuđenim ljubavima. ne očekujte od ovih savšenih boraca debilnu potrebu za lutanje univerzumom i ispravljanjem krvih drina, ne - pobude i ciljevi Metabarona su uglavnom lični, nekad čak i sebični, a putevi do njih nelišeni prljavštine, lukavosti i manipulacija - ne neka nedostižna vaseljenska pravda i ravnoteža, već lična istina, osveta i opet ta ljubav. 

Suštinski, uzimajući u obzir likove, priču koja protilče kroz praćenje više generacija (deda, očeva, unuka...) i opšteg univerzuma u koji je smeštena Saga o Metabaronima najlakše je povući paralelu sa herbertovom Dinom i ako vam se dotični biser svetskog SF-a dopao, morate pročitati i ovo.
